Breaker Operations, Trip and Close, Spring – Hydraulic – Pneumatic and Solenoid, Effects of Proper / Poor Maintenance, Time Based vs. RCM, Advantages of Recording the First Trip, Common Sense Maintenance.

Print Reading, Multimeters and Electrical Theory: History of Print Reading, Terminology and Practices, Review of DC Theory (Ohm’s Law) and Basic Math, ITE Circuit Breaker Wiring Diagrams – Trip, Close, CTs, Lights, AC Motors, Intro Into Circuit Breaker Troubleshooting, Use a Wiring Diagram on actual ITE CB, Multimeter Theory and Application, Maintenance Procedure Checklist, Circuit Breaker Maintenance, Switchgear.

Hands-On Session: Students will perform step-by-step procedures centered upon your company specific equipment at your location. Students will physically identify the following:   - Auxiliary Switches (both “a” & “b”)
  - Latch Check Sw
  - Limit Sw
  - Trip Coil
  - X - Coil
  - Y –Coil, Etc…
